If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the vast choice of menopause gummies, vitamins, and supplements out there...don’t worry!
In this guide, you’ll find out what menopause gummies and vitamins actually are, their potential benefits and also the drawbacks that often go unnoticed. By the end, you’ll have a clear understanding of whether these products are worth investing your money in!
When it comes to menopause gummies and vitamins, many people think they’re a convenient and effective solution for managing symptoms. However, the reality is more complex and not all claims hold up under scrutiny.
What Are Menopause Gummies Anyway?
Menopause gummies are vitamin supplements specifically designed to support women in perimenopause and menopause. They commonly come with promises of ‘curing all your symptoms.’
They're vitamin supplements that are offered as chewable, candy-like ‘gummies’ because they’re easier to swallow and taste better than pills (plus of course they can look a lot prettier!) However, some gummy multivitamins contain up to 3g of sugar each!
Menopause Gummies are BIG BUSINESS!
Brands want your money. Let's talk about the market data for menopause gummies and vitamins. Here are the most important statistics:
The global menopause supplement market is projected at $934 million in 2024 (Future Markets)
The global menopause market as a whole is expected to reach $24.4 billion by 2030 (Yahoo Finance)
Global sales of gummy vitamins exceeded $7 billion in 2022 (Today) with even celebrities such as Kourtney Kardashian launching their own ranges.
The Impact of 'Menowashing' on the Menopause
Menowashing is when companies use marketing strategies to sell products by exploiting the menopause, often with exaggerated claims.
The history of menowashing stems from the increasing awareness of menopause and the lucrative market it represents. Menopause awareness has only recently started gaining huge traction and brands jumped on the opportunity to market specifically to menopausal women.
Menopause specialists have welcomed the increasing awareness around all things menopause but there is increasing concern at the products being targeted at women in perimenopause or menopause, at a time when we can be vulnerable and desperate for that ‘quick fix’ to make us feel better.
Holland & Barrett recently came under fire by marketing a chocolate bar as a menopause remedy!
The Advertising Standards Authority has also banned an advert by Happy Mammoth for their Hormone Harmony supplement in the UK for misleading women into thinking the supplement could help them rapidly lose weight ‘without even trying’.
What You Need to Know About Menopause Gummies
Navigating the vast field of menopause supplements can be overwhelming. How do you figure out how to get started? Let’s dive in.
1. First, Menopause Gummies are NOT the Answer to Your Symptoms
Do you think menopause gummies and menopause-labelled vitamin supplements alone can solve all your symptoms? That's because you’ll have been bombarded by companies advertising them as THE solution.
The myth that menopause gummies are a cure-all is misleading. Whilst they can support your health needs, relying solely on them can lead you down the wrong path. Brands promoting them as miracle solutions are prioritising profits over your well-being. Try to get as much goodness from food as possible. Food is medicine!
Overconsumption of the wrong vitamin supplements may put you at risk of getting too much of certain nutrients, leading to vitamin or mineral toxicity, which can harm your body.
2. Good Health and Happiness in Menopause IS Achievable!
Of course you’re curious about whether long-term good health and happiness really is possible during menopause.
To achieve your biggest goal of feeling good, managing menopause symptoms effectively and safeguarding your future health, you need a comprehensive approach that includes the right support, the right supplements for you, good nutrition, regular exercise, sleep and stress management…plus HRT when you know the up-to-date benefits and risks (and in the UK at the time of writing, this costs just under £20 for a whole year’s prescription charge).

There are vitamins and minerals that may be beneficial to you during perimenopause and menopause for YOUR specific symptoms, when we are not able to get them from our food...but not all supplements are good quality. The efficacy of some brands is questionable but there are good, high quality supplements out there! Here are some of the supplements I recommend:
A good B-complex
Essential for regulating our nervous system, they help with anxiety and give us energy. BioCare's B Complex is a good option.
Vitamin D
The sunshine vitamin! It has many critical uses in our bodies including supporting our immune system, our joints and our bones, our mood and our mental health. For most of the year, we're usually unable to get enough from the sun (especially in the UK) so supplementing is a good idea. This spray from BioCare is good:
Calcium
We should be able to get enough from many foods such as dairy, leafy greens, almonds and sardine bones - but we do need more calcium in menopause so make sure you are eating plenty of calcium-rich foods.
Iron
If you suffer with heavy bleeding in perimenopause then your iron levels may be low which can result in iron deficiency anaemia. Always see your doctor who may suggest iron supplements but make sure these are a gentle formula. Floradix is an excellent herbal liquid which is gentle on your stomach.
Magnesium Glycinate
There are different types of magnesium but Magnesium Glycinate is important for many different functions in our bodies including sleep and mood support. Magnesium-rich foods are avocado, almonds, cashews, lentils and chickpeas.
Omega 3
Buy the correct Omega-3 with high levels of EPA and DHA. They are the fatty acids that provide many health benefits including brain health, anti-inflammatory properties and supports our bone health.
3. Look After Yourself and Eat Well
Your focus should always be food first to get all the nutrients your body needs.
Food can not only have a huge impact on your perimenopause and menopause symptoms but can also go some way to safeguarding your future health.

4. Educating Yourself about the Menopause is Absolutely Essential
Knowledge about menopause and the available resources is crucial for your success!
Educating yourself about the different aspects of menopause will empower you to make informed decisions. Here’s why it’s essential:
Understanding Symptoms: Helps you identify and manage them effectively.
Knowing Your Options: From diet and lifestyle changes to medical treatments including HRT
Empowerment: Making informed choices boosts your confidence and control.
HRT is usually the first-line treatment for managing your menopause symptoms and it also has many benefits for your long-term health.
This blog post looks at how to decide if HRT is for you or not.
As mentioned before, HRT is available on the NHS with an annual prescription charge of just £19.80 for the whole year (at the time of writing).
The Balance Menopause website and app are unrivalled platforms that educate and empower people across the globe. It is the world’s biggest menopause library, filled with medically-approved content.
5. You Can Maximise Your Results with Small Changes
Did you think you have to undergo drastic changes to get results? That’s one way, but small changes can also get you powerful results. Based on my experience, here are a few small changes that made a big impact for me:
Hydration: Drinking more water throughout the day. You’ll be more energetic!
Regular Sleep Schedule: Sticking to a consistent sleep routine.
Stay Active: try to at least fit a daily walk into your routine
Stress Reduction Techniques: Practising mindfulness and relaxation exercises

6. Remember, It’s a Long Game, Not a Quick Fix
Now that you know a lot more about menopause management, you might be tempted to skip steps or cut corners. Remember that consistency is key, because rushing the process can lead to setbacks.
If you’ve been struggling to find the right balance, try adopting a consistent, comprehensive approach to see the best results.
